What is Microneedling?

Microneedling treatment, also known as collagen induction therapy, is the process of using tiny needles to gently penetrate specific areas of the skin, which stimulate the skin's natural ability to produce collagen and elastin. This helps the skin look and feel healthy, youthful, and vibrant. 

We ALL need more collagen since we lose 1% of our collagen every year after our early 20s!  Another benefit to Microneedling is that it increases the delivery of nutrients to the deeper levels of the skin, where it is needed most. 

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has been using acupuncture for thousands of years to treat skin laxity, fine lines, wrinkles, skin texture and other signs of aging. Acupuncture needle insertion stimulates collagen production and is still used to today with cosmetic acupuncture and scar treatments since it has been so effective at stimulating and correcting collagen production through the years. But now with modern technology, microneedles are available. These are extremely small needles that are grouped together in a small device that can cover a much larger area without individual needle insertions, which makes it easier, faster, and more painless than ever to naturally increase collagen levels for smoother, younger looking skin.

We use a top of the line AcuMicro Microneedling device which is a premium class 2 medical device and is FDA approved. This device offers some of the thinnest stainless steel needles on the market, for a more comfortable treatment. It uses sterile single use cartridges only.

Unlike ablative therapies, which remove the top layers of the skin, Microneedling simply creates channels in the skin for better product absorption while creating controlled micro-injuries to the treated area. When the channels are created the skin’s own repair response begins by producing collagen and elastin to heal the controlled injury that was created. That in turn makes the skin tighter and smoother, allows products to be better absorbed, and collagen/elastin to be produced, all of which can improve fine lines and wrinkles and improve skin tone and texture. Microneedling can also be done on the scalp to promote hair growth or done on the body to reduce scars and stretch marks.

Our Microneedling treatment is very unique and gets excellent results. We combine the Microneedling treatment with LED light therapy and customized herbal, vegan stem cell and hyaluronic acid based serums that are nutrient dense along with a customized Hydrojelly masks for balancing and cooling the skin. The LED light therapy helps to increase collagen production as well as offer anti-inflammatory benefits, the serums can fully penetrate for the most impact, and the cooling mask helps to balance and cool the skin. These additional therapies help to increase and speed up the healing time substantially to reduce redness, pain and dryness post treatment.

Results can be seen after the first treatment as skin should glow and feel tighter. The treatments are performed monthly over a 6 month period. Microneedling results are shown to last between 4-6 years in research, without maintenance. And yes, we use a numbing cream to make the treatment a super comfortable experience.

Because of this, the right topicals are extremely important to include both during and after Microneedling treatments. We use holistic herbal and nutrient topicals in a hyaluronic acid base for all of our treatments. Hyaluronic acid can hold 1,000 times it’s weight in water, making it perfect for hydration after a Microneedling session.

We offer a variety of serum options which can be customized to the client’s specific skin’s needs. The serums include TCM herbs and ingredients that have been well studied and proven to produce results.
