Wellness

Many people only think about their health and wellness when something is wrong, but when we focus on prevention, that’s when true health can happen.

Wellness is about the prevention of illness, before it happens, and encompasses the health of both the body and the mind.  But it is not simply just the absence of illness that defines wellness, but a broad practice of internal and external daily behaviors that make the difference in someone’s overall wellness.  This can be daily choices of diet, self-care, exercise, sleep, down time, stress reduction, nutrition, social interactions, meditation, etc. which can all lead to the avoidance and prevention of a variety of unwanted health related ailments.

Wellness care is an approach to healthcare that nurtures the health of the body, even when there are no symptoms, before any symptoms manifest.  Once symptoms are present, the balance of the body has shifted and those symptoms must be addressed before wellness can be achieved.

Wellness is important at any age, but it is especially important to practice the older we get.

General Wellness is something we all strive to achieve, we all want to enjoy a higher quality of life.  Feeling our best is always the goal, we all want to be super healthy and happy.  We want to be more productive, have less stress, improve our relationships, feel better, play outside with kids, grandkids or pets, have a healthy body and enjoy mental clarity.  Putting wellness into practice means striving for overall wellness by the way we live our life every day. It is not an end to be achieved, rather it is a lifestyle to adopt.

Embrace wellness!
